It's BOTAK JONES time!!! my newfound favourite fish & chips. i was introduced to the Clementi outlet by my good friend, wl. Recently, they opened a new outlet at Depot Road, which is right in the middle of wl's and my house. She always joked that Botak Jones is in front of my house and I can just walk straight to reach it but yet I gotta make a big detour cos it's blocked by the Telok Blangah Hill.

This fast-food stall is opened by an American and can be found in the heartland of Sg's kopitiams.

1. 32 Pioneer Sector 2, Sungei Kadut Eating House at the junction of Pioneer Sector 2 and Pioneer Sector 1 (Monday - Friday 10:00 am till 7:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 am til 5:00 pm Sunday closed)
2. Yue Hua Food Place, Block 608 Ang Mo Kio Ave. 5 (Everyday 11:30 noon til 10:00 pm)
3. Block 325 Clementi Ave 5 (Kopitiam) #01- 129 Singapore 120325 (Everyday 11:30 noon till 10:00 pm). It's just nxt to Clementi Mrt - turn right aft coming out from the control and walk straight towards the hdb flats and you will see a kopitiam.

Personally, I find their fish&chips much nicer than their famous counterparts and it's more affordable too! Plus, their serving is damn hugeee. You don't have to pay for service charge and you get served. Maybe the service charge is alr included in the price but their service is very good.

There was once when I went to the Clementi outlet with my mum during lunchtime and it was super crowded. We waited for extremely long and they gave us a free serving of their new Chicken Gumbo. By the time we finished our main course, we hardly have space in the stomach for the soup. And everytime wl and I went to the Depot outlet to eat, the uncle always come over and ask us about the food and start some friendly banter with us.

But it usually gets very crowded during peak hours. So between 2.30pm to 6pm is usually a safe time for the Clementi one. The Depot one is better since there are more seats.

I would highly recommend this to people who want to try good and cheap food and it's also great for gatherings, that is if you don't mind dining at a non air-conditioned place that day.

Remember to save your stomach for this good food!
